FISH FACTS

Description
Triangular body with six or seven blackish blotches and an upturned mouth. Colour varies from bronze to silver; fins mainly dark with a red or yellow edge when large.

Sevenspot Archerfish have a unique way of feeding on insects: they accurately shoot a jet of water (like an arrow) at prey to knock them into reach of their mouth. Breeding occurs in the early wet season

Habitat
Sheltered marine waters, estuaries and freshwater rivers, streams and billabongs, often near overhanging vegetation.
