SLOAN'S VIPERFISH FACTS

Description
Sloan's Viperfish is an iridescent silver fish with a slender body. The dorsal fin is located well forward. Found in deep water but may migrate to near-surface waters at night.

length 35cm

Habitat
deep oceanic waters to more than 1,000 m depth;

Food
Feeds on midwater fish and crustaceans, mainly myctophids

Range
found in warm and temperate parts of all oceans. Also found in the western Mediterranean, South China Sea and East China Sea.
