RINGED XENICA FACTS

Identification
The Ringed Xenica is an orange and brown butterfly with distinctive eyespots. The forewings have a single eyespot above and below the wing. The hindwings have a single eyespot above and two spots on the underside.

Size
Length: 39mm - 42mm

Habitat
sheltered slopes and shady gullies in open forest, woodland

Food
larvae feeds on plants such as Joycea, Poa and Themeda species

Range
south east Queensland, eastern New South Wales and southern Victoria.
