MURRAY RIVER TURTLE FACTS |
Description
The Murray River Turtle is a freshwater turtle from eastern Australia. It is brown or greenish brown with pale stripe along side of neck. the shell is oval in shape. The turtle is capable of staying underwater for a long period of time

Habitat
rivers, backwaters, permanent deep waterholes on floodplains
Food
Plants, crustaceans, molluscs and other invertebrates.
Breeding
The female lays a clutch of ten to fifteen eggs in a nest near the water.
Range
found in many of the rivers of eastern Australia
