North American Wildlife

The aim of this site is to present photographs and information on a range of North American wildlife, covering animals from Canada, the United States of America and Mexico.

Where possible, photos of wildlife in its natural habitat have been used. There are photos of animals from the arctic wilderness of Canada and Alaska, and from the American plains and deserts, to the rainforest of Mexico. Many photos are from well-known American and Canadian national parks. Most of the marine mammals from around the North American coastline (seals and whales) are represented on the site.

For most species there are several photos and a distribution map, and also a fact sheet with information about habitat, feeding, and for threatened and endangered species there are some conservation notes.

The site currently features mammals and reptiles, with Birds in the pipeline.

Your American Wildlife Photos Wanted

The site includes nearly all of the large mammals of North America. There are still many gaps in the coverage of smaller mammals - rats, mice, voles etc. If you have any wildlife photos of animals that are not shown on the site, please send them to us (or send a link to your photo album) and we will consider your photos for the site, with full credit to you.
