Description The Barrier Reef Anemonefish is brown with two black-edged white bars. The first bar crosses the head. The second bar crosses the body at the middle of the dorsal fin. The tail is white. Juveniles are brown with three white stripes.
Size to 11cm long
Habitat shallow lagoons to deep outer reef. Lives in water from 1m to 25 m deep.
Food feeds on algae and zooplankton.
Breeding The eggs are incubated for six or seven days after spawning. Both parents care for the eggs, with male taking the leading role.
Range tropical marine waters of the south-western Pacific. In Australia it is found the northern Great Barrier Reef, Queensland to northern New South Wales.
