MEAL MOTH FACTS

Identification
The adult Meal Moth is a brownish moth. The forewings are dark with light brown or olive brown central area. The light and dark areas of the forewings are separated by thin white curved lines. The eyes are green. The hindwings have similar pattern, but less bold markings. When at rest the tip of the abdomen curves upwards. The caterpillar is cream with a brown head.

Size
adult wingspan 20mm to 30mm. Caterpillar length to 20mm

Food
The caterpillar is a pest of stored grain.
