AUSTRALIAN SEA LION FACTS

Description
The Australian Sea Lion is a large seal with a blunt snout. Male dark brown or black, with white crown and back of neck. Female silvery grey above and yellow cream below.

Size
male 2.3m, female 1.6m

Habitat
coastal waters. Comes ashore on sandy beaches and breeds on rocky areas

Food
squid, fish

Breeding
single pup weaned after about 10 months

Range
coastal waters off SA , and south west WA
