ECLECTUS PARROT FACTS

Description
The Eclectus Parrot is a brightly coloured parrot from the rainforest of Queensland. The sexes are completely different colours. The male is bright green with a large orange bill, and the female is deep red with black bill.

45cm

Habitat
tropical rainforests.

Food
fruit, nuts, seeds, flowers and nectar

Breeding
Nests are in wood chip-lined hollows of emergent trees in the rainforest

Range
endemic to Queensland
