WESTERN ROSELLA FACTS

Description
Male: head and underparts red; cheeks yellow. Back and wings black, the feathers edged with green or red. Tail green. Female: similar to male but duller.

Nests in tree hollows, often a spout (dead hollow branch) leading into a green limb. Breeds from August to November. Five to eight white eggs comprise the clutch. The call is a melodious “pink-pink” sound.
