DARK SURGEON FACTS

Description
The Dark Surgeon is gray, blue or brownish with a yellow spot behind the eye. The tail is blue with a white bar at the base of the tail. There is a lighter blue-gray patch around mouth.

Size
to 45cm

Habitat
offshore reefs. feeds over sandy areas

Range
The Dark Surgeon is found in tropical marine waters of the Indo-Pacific. In Australia it is found off north-western Western Australia and on the east coast from the northern Great Barrier Reef to south of New South Wales.
